Travels Bus Gutted in Fire on Kovvur Flyover

A private travel bus was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out on the Kovvur flyover in the early hours of Wednesday. According to DSP Devakumar and CI K. Vishwam, when the bus reached Kovvur flyover on its way from Khammam to Visakhapatnam, its engine reportedly suffered a short circuit.

A sudden fire broke out due to a short circuit, and then the driver stopped the vehicle immediately. The six passengers and four staff on board managed to escape safely without any injuries.

Fire crews came to the scene and took the fire under control. The passengers were then put on another bus and continued their journey. Kovvur Fire Officer AVN S. Venu said that the estimated loss due to the incident was around ₹ 80 lakh.
