Investigations revealed that Maurya, though posted at Bithoor Police Station, was present at Sachendi at the time of the incident.

The victim’s family claimed that local police covered up the incident and that they were initially rebuffed when they mentioned a police officer’s involvement.

The girl’s brother stated that the police confiscated her mobile phone and prevented her from returning home until her court statement was recorded.

SHO Vikram Singh was suspended for allegedly not implementing the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act in the initial stages and misrepresenting facts in the case records.

“The investigation is being conducted with complete transparency and strict action will be taken against all the culprits,” Raghubir Lal said.
