Warangal sub-inspector, his driver arrested in ₹15,000 bribery case

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Thursday arrested a police Sub-Inspector (SI) posted at KUC police station under Warangal commissionerate for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹15,000, officials said.
According to the ACB, the accused officer, identified as P. Srikanth, had his private driver from Warangal district, Md., who acted as a middleman. She along with Nazeer got stranded around 5.50 pm. It was reported that the bribe amount was requested from the complainant to provide a report, to facilitate the early filing of charges and to ensure the release of seized vehicles and mobile phones.
Officials said the bribe was accepted through a private individual at KU junction in Warangal. The tainted amount of ₹15,000 was later seized by Ms. Nazeer.
Both the accused have been arrested and will be produced before the special court in Warangal in SPE and ACB cases. While the investigation into the incident continues, the identity of the complainant has been kept secret for security reasons.
ACB reiterated that those facing any bribery demands by public officials can contact the bureau via toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be made through ACB’s official social media platforms, including WhatsApp and X. Officials said the identities of the complainants will be kept confidential.
