Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who says he knows what it’s like to be accused of corruption, criticized Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for “giving up” on re-election. The Trump-friendly Democrat claimed he had “dirty hands” in the fraud scandals.
Walz, a Democrat, said Monday that he will not seek a third term after consulting with his family and political team.
Blagojevich was impeached by the Illinois State Senate and removed from office in January 2009 as he fought corruption charges. He was later sentenced to 14 years in prison before his sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump. He was later pardoned but barred from serving in Illinois office.
The saga appeared to lead the Democrat to criticize the position of Walz, who is also preparing to leave office next year.

While Fox News Digital reached out to Walz’s office for a response to the allegation, the outspoken former “Apprentice” contestant’s message came in response to a letter from X CEO Elon Musk that also criticized Walz.
“Walz replaced the Minnesota state flag with the Somali flag. That’s one reason why he deserves the name ‘Traitor Squad’. Put the flag back,” Musk had tweeted in response to a synthetically generated meme showing Walz replacing the old state flag with a new one.

Designers of the new flag, adopted in 2024 following outcry over the depiction of Native Americans in the old version, denied any intentional connection with the Somali flag; because both had a star on a blue background.
Since returning to public life, Blagojevich has been outspoken on a wide range of issues.
He recently criticized his current successor, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, for attacks on the Trump administration, including the arrest of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.
