Man arrested and charged with murder following 2017 death of Hayley McClenahan-Ernst

A man has been charged with murder following the suspicious death of a young pregnant woman almost nine years ago.
NSW Police found 21-year-old Hayley McClenahan-Ernst unresponsive at a home on Derby Street, Kingswood, in Sydney’s east, at around 12.15am on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
He died at the scene.
A 21-year-old man Hayley knew had been charged with breaching the ban/restriction on the AVO (DV) at the time and was dealt with by the courts.
Hayley’s death was deemed suspicious and led to extensive investigations within Strike Force Fielding.
Last year the criminal investigation was suspended and the matter was referred to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP).

In October detectives from Nepean Police Command reviewed the matter, continued their investigation and issued a renewed public appeal.
On Tuesday morning detectives arrested a 30-year-old man at a property in Bucca, north of Coffs Harbour.
He was taken to Coffs Harbor Police Station and charged with murder.
The man is due to appear in bail court on Tuesday.
