Queen Elizabeth’s strong statement by repeating one word eight times | Royal | News

Queen Elizabeth II Elizabeth tried to convey a strong message by using an important tactic when issuing a statement following the Sandringham Summit in January 2020. The late monarch brought together then-Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry to discuss how best to navigate ‘Megxit’ during peacekeeping talks after Harry and Meghan Markle made the bombshell announcement that they wanted to quit their lives as working royals.

Queen Elizabeth II While Elizabeth regretfully preferred to keep Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as full-time working members of the Royal Family, she expressed that she respected their wishes to live an independent life between the United Kingdom and Canada at the time.

Immediately following the ‘crisis meeting’, the Queen issued the following announcement, in which the word ‘family’ appears eight times. In her text message, she desperately reminded Harry and Meghan that they are part of the family.

The full statement, released on January 13, 2020, read: “Today, my family had very constructive discussions regarding the future of my grandson and his family.

“My family and I fully support Harry and Meghan’s desire to build a new life as a young family. Although we would prefer that they remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”

“Harry and Meghan have made it clear that they do not want to be dependent on public funds in their new life.

“So it was agreed that there would be a transition period during which the Sussexes would spend time in Canada and the UK.

“These are complex issues for my family to resolve and there is still a lot of work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be made in the coming days.”

The couple moved to California after officially stepping down from royal duties in March 2020. Despite the late Queen’s emphasis on her family, Meghan and Harry decided to take part in a tell-all interview with US presenter Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

The Duchess of Sussex said she found living within the British Royal Family so difficult that sometimes she “didn’t want to survive anymore”.

Meghan stated that she began to feel lonely when limits were allegedly placed on what she could do, and at one point, she did not leave the house for months.

A day after the broadcast, the palace said in a statement: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly those around race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of the family.”
