Russia sends horror threat to ‘assassinate’ EU President – ‘The new Hitler’ | World | News

Vladimir Putin’s propagandist called on Russia to assassinate two European leaders, including Commission president Ursula von der Leyen. On his radio show Full Contact, Vladimir Solovyov called for the killing of European officials who he believed were “stealing” Russian assets.

He said of Ms von der Leyen: “A former thief, along with Ursula von der Leyen, is trying to steal our assets. The fact that a person whose authority is not even remotely involved in this is making these decisions and the whole of Europe is saying ‘okay’ shows that we have a new Hitler.”

He continued: “Anyone who has anything to do with the structure of the EU can break off our existing relations, revise the laws in force and declare the EU a terrorist organisation.

“And based on this, convince them as we did with the terrorists. We must declare Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas as terrorists. If we find them in the annex, we will shoot them there.”

Solovyov says the recently tabled EU plan envisages raising around £80 billion to help Ukraine by seizing Russian assets or borrowing against those already frozen. This marks the largest financial overture of the war so far.

Ms von der Leyen said the money would cover two-thirds of Ukraine’s finances by 2027.

He said: “We propose to cover two-thirds of Ukraine’s financing needs over the next two years. That’s €90 billion. We can also increase that, as pressure is the only language the Kremlin responds to.”

There are currently at least £180bn of state and private Russian assets frozen in banks and clearinghouses across the EU, and this money will not be returned if the Commission gets its way.

The biggest part of this (around £160bn) was attributed to Euroclear in Belgium. However, the Belgian government said it did not support sending the money to Ukraine if it was legally responsible for the full amount.
