Hema Malini on her relationship with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol after Dharmendra’s death

Veteran superstar Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. She married Prakash Kaur in 1954 and had four children, two sons and two daughters, Ajeeta Deol and Vijeta Deol, with actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. He remarried in 1980 to actress Hema Malini, with whom he shares two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. After Dharmendra’s death, Sunny and Bobby organized a prayer meeting for him at a hotel, while Hema and her daughters also organized a prayer meeting at his home. The BJP politician also held prayer meetings in Delhi and his constituency Mathura.

Since then, there were reports of rift between Hema and Sunny-Bobby. Denying such rumors, the veteran actress told Indian Express in her last interview: “She was always very beautiful and sincere. Even today, she is very beautiful. I don’t know why people think there is something wrong with us. Because people want gossip. Why should I answer them? Do I need to explain? Why should I? This is my life. My private life, our private life. We are absolutely happy and very close to each other. That’s it. I’m out.” There’s nothing more to say about this. I don’t know what kind of stories people make up. It’s so sad that people use other people’s pain to write a few articles. That’s why I don’t answer (such speculations).

Dharmendra’s last film, Ikkis, a war drama based on the life of Param Vir Chakra award-winning Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, was released in theaters on January 1. When Hema Malini was asked if she had watched Ikkis, she said, “I came to Mathura when the movie was released. I have to do my work here. Also, I can’t see it now, it will be very depressing. My daughters say so too. Maybe.” “I’ll watch later when the wounds start to heal.”

Sriram Raghavan plays Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Arun in the directorial, while the war hero’s father, Brigadier General Madan Lal Khetarpal, is played by Dharmendra. The film also starred Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia (Akshay Kumar’s niece in her acting debut), Suhasini Mulay, Deepak Dobriyal, Sikandar Kher and Vivaan Shah. Ikkis received rave reviews from critics but failed to do well at the box office amid the ongoing Dhurandhar wave.
