Liberal comedian Bill Maher has hit out at his “woke” peers who refused to give him awards at awards ceremonies in Hollywood.

On Monday’s “Club Random” podcast, Maher sat down with “Train Dreams” star Joel Edgerton, and the two bonded over their Golden Globe nominations (the interview was recorded before the ceremony aired Sunday).

“How do you feel going in?” Edgerton asked. “To me – and maybe it’s because I’ve always set my ceiling pretty low in life. Like, for me, being nominated is a win.”

“Honey, I’ve been nominated for 33 Emmys and they never gave it to me,” Maher responded. “This is not a joke number. This is a real number. This is crazy.”

“Obviously that’s something I said. That’s everything I said,” Maher later joked.

“That’s enough to get the nomination,” Edgerton interjected. “But there’s something you said-“

“Because I speak freely. And this woke town f—— hates it,” Maher continued. “And that’s okay. I’ve made peace with it.”

If he “miraculously” wins the award, Maher said, “I should be really shocked.”

Maher has earned dozens of Emmy nominations since 1995 for his various stand-up specials on “Real Time” and the late-night show “Political Incorrect”; however, according to his IMDB page, he won an Emmy in 2014 as executive producer of HBO’s docuseries “Vice.”

Maher attended the Golden Globes on Sunday as a nominee for Best Performance in a Television Stand-Up Comedy. However, he lost the award to British comedian Ricky Gervais.
