Recalled Anker power banks could ‘catch fire’, safety watchdog warns

Consumers were warned to stop using a number of power banks among the fears that they could overheat and burn fire.
Amazon, Ebay and Anker were recalled by the Four Anker Power Bank Models sold on the website, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s product security surveillance.
The burning incidents of power banks took place abroad and caused material damage.
More than one million anker power banks have been recalled internationally.
Consumers were warned about the risk of serious burning injuries that may occur if their devices overheated and burned fire.
Portable electronic charging devices have been sold for more than an international year.
The affected power banks were sold between 1 December 2023 – 13 June 2025.
Models include anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W), anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, USB-C cable), anker Zolo Power Bank (20k, 30W, construction USB-C and Lightning Cable) and Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, USB-C cable).
The devices come in black, white, lime green, pastel pink, purple and baby blue colors.
It was recommended to stop using it immediately to anyone who bought the devices.
Consumers can check the serial numbers of PowerBank on the Anquer website and sign up for a backup to determine if they are affected.
Power banks will need to be safely discarded later.
