Malinauskas refuses to apologise over Abdel-Fattah remarks

The Palestinian-Australian academic at the center of the Adelaide Writers’ Week saga is Dr. Randa Abdel-Fattah has issued a statement of concern to South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas over allegations that he is an “extreme terrorist sympathizer” and “directly linked to the Bondi atrocity”.

In an emotional press conference on Tuesday, Malinauskas denied allegations that there was political pressure to exclude Abdel-Fattah from Adelaide Festival Writers’ Week; It was a decision that would ultimately doom this year’s program, following a mass boycott by attendees and speakers who supported Abdel-Fattah.
