Wanted man gets stuck on garden shed roof while fleeing police | News

A wanted man was trapped on the roof of a shed while trying to escape from the police.

South Yorkshire police said the 31-year-old ran away after being involved in a failed stop in Doncaster and thought he could hide from officers by jumping from garden to garden.

But National Police Air Service (NPAS) officers were following him from a helicopter and there were guides on the ground.

After NPAS officers spotted him climbing onto the roof of a garden shed, he was confronted and surrounded by police, who encouraged him to climb down before arresting him.

He was arrested and recalled to prison on suspicion of numerous offences, including two counts of motor vehicle theft and possession of a knife or bladed instrument.
