US-Iran Tension: Qatar confirmed on Wednesday that some personnel had left the US Al Udeid Air Base in the country. These developments come as regional tensions rise amid signs of escalation around Iran’s protests, with US officials repeatedly threatening intervention.

This confirmation from Qatar came just hours after the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued an advisory for Indian citizens currently in Iran to leave the country at the earliest. Similarly, the US virtual embassy in Iran urged US citizens to leave the country on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar stated in his post on X that he received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. The two leaders discussed the developing situation in Iran and its surroundings.

Earlier, Xinhua news agency, citing a Reuters report, reported that the United States had withdrawn some of its personnel from its military bases in the Middle East as a precaution. Meanwhile, the IMO cited “regional tensions” as the reason for personnel leaving the US Air Base.

According to IANS, IMO said: “The International Media Office (IMO) of the State of Qatar, citing reports circulating in the media regarding the departure of certain personnel from Al Udeid Air Base, states that such measures have been taken in response to current regional tensions.”

IMO reaffirmed that Qatar continues to implement all necessary measures to protect the safety and security of its citizens and residents as a top priority, including steps to protect critical infrastructure and military facilities.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday: “Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the murderers and abusers. They will pay a huge price. I have canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOP. HELP IS COMING. MIGA!!!”
