CM Adityanath greets people on Makar Sankranti, Pongal

Lucknow, Jan 15 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday greeted people on Makar Sankranti and Pongal harvest festivals. While some places celebrate Makar Sankranti on Wednesday, many people in Uttar Pradesh celebrate it on Thursday.
“On this auspicious occasion of the holy festival of ‘Makar Sankranti’ dedicated to public faith and worship of the universal father Lord Sun, I heartily congratulate and best wishes all the devotees who take a holy dip at the holy confluence (of rivers) to gain the benefits of virtue,” the Prime Minister said.
“May the grace of Lord Sun and the blessings of Mother Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati be upon everyone always,” he added.
In another post, Adityanath greeted Pongal.
“I heartily congratulate and best wishes everyone on the sacred festival of Pongal, which is dedicated to agricultural culture, conservation of nature and the courage of food provider farmers,” he said.
“I hope that this festival, which conveys the message of prosperity and harmony, fills everyone’s life with happiness, peace, joy and health,” the Prime Minister added.
