8 JNV Wargal Students Bag National Honours

Principal Dasi Rajender said eight students of Prime Minister SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Wargal, Siddipet district, were awarded for their performance in the 26th National Youth Parliament Competition held in New Delhi on January 15.

Union Minister of State for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal presented the awards. The event was held at JNV in Nagpur district of Maharashtra.

JNV Wargal’s award-winning students included P. Vaishnavi (Speaker), Adinath (chief minister), Abhinav (Leader of Opposition), K. Vaishali (finance minister), Benharpal (agriculture minister), Ram Charan (environment minister), P. Srimani and T. Nakshatra (opposition members).

Medak BJP MP M. Raghunandan Rao congratulated the principal, guidance counselors and students of JNV Wargal for their performance in the national level competition and participation in the prize distribution programme.

At the event, students and schools from JNVs across the country were rewarded for their performance in the 2024-25 edition of the competition. JNV, Suratgarh, Sri Ganganagar‑II, Rajasthan ranked first.

The ministry of parliamentary affairs has been organizing Youth Parliament competitions for JNV for 29 years. The 26th edition was held among 88 schools representing eight districts of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The program aims to provide students with knowledge of parliamentary practices and democratic values, including self-discipline, tolerance of different views and fair expression of ideas.

Merit trophies were awarded to JNVs in Valsad (Gujarat-Pune region), Ambedkarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Birbhum (West Bengal-Patna region), Golaghat (Assam), Medak (Telangana) and Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh-Bhopal region).
