Prince William’s latest move to hire a public relations expert during the crisis has drawn criticism from some quarters. The Prince of Wales recently hired Liza Ravenscroft, who was described as “bulletproof sunshine” by her previous boss.

He was recruited from communications firm Edelman, where he led the UK Crisis and Issues team. A former BBC royal correspondent has told how he will be needed due to the range of issues the monarchy often faces that require effective management. Jennie Bond explained: “..Whatever the reason, it seems like a smart move.

“Crises occur with unremitting regularity in the royal family, and having someone skilled enough to prevent them, or at least prepared and fully informed to deal with the situation, is essential good PR.”

Prince Harry also released his bombshell memoir Spare in January 2023, which alleged a physical fight between Harry and Prince William.

Speaking of the new hire, Jennie added: “This may be one of the changes William plans to pursue: ensuring his team is ahead of the game, being fully proactive and not allowing ‘events, my dear boy’, to destabilize the monarchy.”

William’s uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was formally stripped of his HRH style, the title of Prince, and all royal titles, including the Order of the Garter and the Royal Victorian Order, by King Charles in late 2025 due to his relationship with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

He is also accused of sexually assaulting the late Virginia Giuffre, an allegation he continues to vehemently deny.
