Female talkSPORT presenter forced to apologise for her ‘objectifying’ joke about interviewing David Beckham amid his family feud with son Brooklyn

A female talkSPORT presenter has made a public apology after making an ‘objectifying’ joke about David Beckham amid his row with Brooklyn.
David and Victoria’s eldest child, 26, sent shockwaves through the celebrity world on Monday with an explosive statement targeting his parents on Instagram.
He accused the couple of “relentlessly” trying to destroy his marriage to 31-year-old Nicola Peltz, “valuing publicity above all else” and “telling countless lies to the media”.
It placed the Beckhams at the center of the discourse on social media; Supporters flocked to this family feud, which attracted the attention of many people.
But talkSPORT presenter Shebahn Aherne chose to make light of the situation by making a seemingly harmless joke about the time he interviewed David.
The 34-year-old actor shared, “My #Beckham story.” ‘I interviewed him for the @talkSPORT drive a few years ago… he put his hand on my arm and asked me to repeat a question. I smelled part of that arm a few times on the train ride home. #brooklynbeckham.’

The 34-year-old actor joked during the interview that he ‘sniffed’ Becks’ arm after she touched him.
However, Shebahn later apologized for the “little joke” and said he did not mean to offend anyone or objectify men
However, Aherne’s joke did not go as planned, with some X users taking to the comments section to claim Aherne had ‘objectified’ the former Real Madrid man.
This prompted the Scottish broadcaster to apologize: ‘We apologize for the offense this has caused. It was a little joke. I’m not here to offend anyone or objectify men. I offer my deepest, most sincere apologies. x’
It comes after David, 50, gave a coy response as he broke his silence about Brooklyn’s bombshell revelation.
The Inter Miami owner gave an interview to CNBC’s financial program Squawk Box 24 hours after Brooklyn’s post became public and said: ‘I’ve always talked about social media and the power of social media… For better or worse.
‘The things kids have access to these days can be dangerous. But what I’ve found personally, especially with my kids as well, is that I use it for the right reasons.
‘I was able to use my platform for my followers on behalf of UNICEF. And it’s been the biggest tool to keep people informed about what’s happening around the world for children.
‘I tried to do the same to my children, to educate them.
‘They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. This is how they learn. I try to teach this to my children; Sometimes you have to let them make those mistakes too.’
David was at the center of a family feud this week after Brooklyn released an explosive statement on Monday.
Brooklyn claimed his parents tried to end his marriage to Nicola Peltz (pictured) and that Victoria ‘humiliated’ him on his wedding day.
David and Victoria have yet to respond directly to Brooklyn’s claims, but their eldest child has revealed he has no intention of reconciling amid their dispute, which is thought to have started in 2022.
Brooklyn began: ‘I have remained silent for years and have made every effort to keep these matters private.
‘Unfortunately my family and their team continued to go to the press, leaving me no choice but to speak out for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that were printed.
‘I don’t want to make peace with my family’ I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
‘My entire life, my family has controlled the media narratives about our family.
‘Performant social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships were a fixture of the life I was born into.
‘Recently, I have seen with my own eyes how far they will go to spread countless lies to the media, often at the expense of innocent people, in order to protect their own image. But I believe the truth always comes out.’
Brooklyn delivered his wedding speech to Nicola, claiming there had been repeated attempts to ruin their relationship.
She wrote: ‘My parents have been trying non-stop to destroy my relationship since my wedding and it hasn’t stopped.
‘Despite how excited she was to wear Nicola’s design, my mother canceled making Nicola’s dress at the eleventh hour, forcing her to find a new dress urgently.’
‘In the weeks before our big day, my family repeatedly pressured and tried to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would affect me, my wife and our future children.
‘They were insistent that I sign the contract before my wedding date because then the terms of the agreement would come into effect.
‘My extension affected the payday and they have never treated me the same since.
‘During the wedding planning my mother went so far as to call me “bad” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni at our table because neither of them had a husband. Both our parents had their own desk equally adjacent to ours.
‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood related’ and ‘not family’.
‘From the moment I started defending myself with my family, I received countless attacks from my family, both private and public, sent to the press at their behest.
‘Even my siblings were sent to attack me on social media, then suddenly blocked me last summer.’
Brooklyn reveals he has no intention of reconciling differences with his family
Brooklyn explained why they didn’t attend his father’s 50th birthday party in May last year.
Victoria went all out for David’s big day; It started with a family party in the Cotswolds, followed by a 24-hour trip to her favorite vineyard in France, and capped it all off with a star-studded dinner at a restaurant in London.
The footballer’s eldest son was conspicuously absent as the family celebrated with A-list friends, including Tom Cruise and David’s former team-mates, at the three-Michelin-starred Core in Kensington, west London.
Brooklyn said: ‘No matter how hard we try to get together, my family constantly disrespects my partner. ‘My mother repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.’
Romeo began dating Kim Turnbull, a model with previous connections to Brooklyn. He attended some family events before their separation last year but later reconciled.
Brooklyn continued: ‘Despite this, we still went to London for my dad’s birthday and were denied for a week when we tried to schedule quality time with him in our hotel room. He rejected all our attempts, except for a big birthday party with hundreds of guests and cameras on every corner.
‘When he finally agreed to meet me it was on the condition that Nicola would not be invited. This was a slap in the face. Later, when my parents went to Los Angeles, they refused to see me at all.’
Brooklyn concluded: ‘My family values public exposure and support above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.
‘Family “love” is determined by how much you post on social media or how quickly you drop everything to pose for a family photo, even at the expense of our professional obligations.
‘For years we have gone out of our way to show up and support our ‘perfect family’ at every fashion show, every party and every press event. However, when my wife asked my mother for support in rescuing dogs displaced during the Los Angeles fires, my mother refused.
‘The narrative that my partner controls me is completely opposite. I have been controlled by my family for most of my life.
‘I grew up with great anxiety. For the first time in my life since I moved away from my family, this anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning with gratitude for the life I chose, I have found peace and relief.
‘My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, the press or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for ourselves and our future family.’
The Daily Mail has contacted the Beckhams for comment.
The Daily Mail revealed that relations between the Beckhams completely soured last summer, and that at one point Brooklyn asked her parents to only contact her through their respective lawyers, Schillings and Harbottle & Lewis.
A source told the Daily Mail: ‘David was told to speak to them through Schillings. “It was their only way to communicate.”
It appears that Brooklyn does not want his parents to contact him directly or make public statements about him on social media.
There was no legal transaction between them and the letter, which was just a request, had no legal basis.
But Brooklyn still maintains regular contact with both sets of grandparents.
