Woman, harassed by finance firm, found dead in Belagavi district

Gauravva Neelappa Kenganur, a 36-year-old farmer woman, was found dead in Anigol village near Bailhongal of Belagavi district on Wednesday.

His family members filed a complaint with the police that he ended his life because he could not stand the harassment from a microfinance company.

Relatives found his body in his home. The police saw the short note he wrote on the wall before he died and reported the situation to the police.

Investigators took photos of the writing they found on the wall of the house.

Gauravva Kenganur had taken a loan of Rs 8 lakh from a microfinance company. However, he was unable to pay his debt on time because he encountered problems. Police said the woman was harassed by company executives and decided to end her life.

A case was registered.
