PM Modi Israel visit LIVE updates: Historic Knesset address to seal special strategic partnership, defence and AI deals

The honor of being the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Knesset in his departure statement: Prime Minister Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that India and Israel share a solid and versatile strategic partnership that has witnessed remarkable growth and dynamism and that he looks forward to their talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Before departing, Prime Minister Modi said he was confident that his visit would further strengthen the “enduring ties” between India and Israel, set new goals for the strategic partnership and advance the countries’ shared vision of a resilient, innovative and prosperous future.

“I look forward to my discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu, which aim to further strengthen our cooperation in various fields, including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management… defense and security, trade and investment, as well as people-to-people ties,” he said in his departure statement.

The Prime Minister said that the two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. “I will also have the honor of being the first Prime Minister of India to address the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, an event that will be a tribute to the strong parliamentary and democratic ties that bind our two nations,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi said he looks forward to interacting with members of the Indian diaspora who have nurtured the India-Israel friendship for a long time.
