Noah Caluori aims for England debut inside six months

“I could play at the top of rugby and achieve anything. I want to be able to win trophies with Saracens, win trophies with England and then come down as one of the best.
“This is my long-term goal. My short-term goal: After graduating from school, my goal was always to play in the 2027 World Cup.”
Caluori faces serious competition. While Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, Tommy Freeman and Tom Roebuck are ahead of him in the Borthwick pecking order, Saracens teammate Elliot Daly, Bath’s Henry Arundell and Harlequins’ Cadan Murley also have claims on the wing position.
But Caluori takes inspiration from Henry Pollock, who was named in last year’s first Six Nations squad, was sent to the under-20s and then returned to the senior squad, scoring two tries off the bench in Wales’ last-round defeat.
Caluori, who played twice for England’s second-tier ‘A’ team in the autumn, said of Pollock: “We had a few chats in camp, not very in-depth.
“But trust him. He’s had a wild ride, and I’d definitely like to follow in his footsteps with some of the things he does.”
As well as Pollock’s groundbreaking example, Caluori says he also took note of former England captain Owen Farrell’s scolding on the training ground.
Farrell returned to Saracens this season after a season with Racing 92 and praised Caluori’s abilities: He called his teammates’ ability to regain offensive tackles “crazy.”, external
But Farrell countered Caluori’s efforts during a tackling drill earlier this season.
“It was a very cold day,” Caluori recalled.
“I wasn’t necessarily sad, [but] I was a little cold, I felt a little sick. It was one of those days… I could have worked harder, so there is some truth to the story.
“I said to myself, ‘My shoulder hurts a little bit.’
“Faz said: ‘Do you have a problem?’
“I said, ‘I’m fine.’
“He said: ‘Do you have a problem?’
“I said, ‘I’m fine.’
“He said: ‘Then train like this.’
“I certainly didn’t take it in a negative way. Later in the session he spoke to me and said: ‘You shouldn’t need someone to motivate you to train like you normally do on a day when it’s cold or you’re not selected.'”
Caluori has stood out with 12 tries in 14 matches this season but has instead been sharpening his defense in preparation for the Test match.
“At Prem level maybe you can get away with some mistakes, but at Test level these are very small margins where you have to get it right – otherwise it could be the country’s game in your hands,” he added.
