Full list of Poundland closures as discount chain issues update | UK | News
The new pricing structure is just one of the changes the retailer is making to improve business performance. However, the brand has decided to close its stores across the country, with many communities losing their local Poundland in 2025. Stores closed throughout the year and the firm’s store count rose from 800 to 651 last year, laying off thousands of people in the process.

Poundland has not published an official list of stores closing in 2025. The closures occurred gradually throughout the year. A number of stores also closed in 2024.
Meanwhile, Poundland has announced plans to close several more stores in early 2026; some had already closed for the last time. Poundland’s 2026 closures:

Poundland is not the only business to close a significant number of high street stores. River Island has also announced a number of closures, while New Look closed several stores in the UK last year.
