Ajit Pawar’s final words before death in plane crash: Maharashtra Deputy CM’s last post on X was just an hour ago and was a tribute

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and three others died when a plane carrying them crashed in Pune district on Wednesday morning, PTI reported, citing officials. The incident took place as Pawar’s plane was landing in Pune’s Baramati area.

ANI reported that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party chief Ajit Pawar was also involved in the contract. Pawar was on his way to Baramati to attend a public rally for the Zilla Parishad Elections.

Ajit Pawar’s last social media post

In his latest post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ajit Pawar paid a humble tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai. “On the occasion of his birth anniversary, humble greetings to the great freedom fighter, evangelist of Swarajya and ‘Punjab Kesari’ Lala Lajpat Rai ji, who devoted his all for the independence of the nation! His patriotism will continue to inspire us forever,” the post read. Lala Lajpat Rai died from severe traumatic injuries sustained in Lahore in October 1928 when police baton-charged him during a peaceful protest march against the all-British Simon Commission.

A veteran politician, Ajit Pawar was Maharashtra’s longest-serving deputy chief minister, earning him the nickname “Deputy CM forever” among his critics. Ajit Pawar’s political journey began in 1982 when he was elected to the board of directors of a sugar cooperative. Over the years, he has carved a niche for himself in the political and collaborative landscape of Maharashtra, holding portfolios such as irrigation, finance and water resources. He became MLA in 1991 and has been representing Baramati since then.

In 2019, Ajit Pawar briefly left the NCP to form a government with BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis. Although the government lasted only three days, Pawar emerged stronger politically and later served as Deputy Prime Minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government before joining the Shinde-BJP alliance in 2023.
