FIR filed against Ranveer Singh over ‘Daiva’ remarks at Goa film festival

An FIR has been registered against actor Ranveer Singh in Bengaluru for allegedly making remarks comparing the Daiva deity to a “ghost” during a public event, police said on Wednesday.

The case was filed under Sections 196, 299 and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the complaint, the alleged remarks were made during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
