US sanctions UN expert Francesca Albanese, critic of Israel’s Gaza offensive

The Trump administration imposes sanctions on the UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur Francesca Arnavut, a clearly anxiety critic of Israel’s military attack in Gaza.
Foreign Minister Marco Rubio associated the movement with the support of the International Criminal Court (ICC), some of which has already been approved by the USA.
Rubio said that the US applied Albania directly because it interacts with the ICC in their efforts to prosecute American or Israeli citizens, and accused him of being suitable for service as a UN special rapporteur.
It will prevent sanctions from traveling to the United States and preventing assets in the country.
In an article in X, Albania did not refer to direct sanctions, but he wrote: “[O]n Today is more than ever: As I always do, I stand in a strict and convincing way with justice. ”
The message re -published by the special rapporteur born in Italy for ICC, lawyers and judges, “justice at a great cost and often defend with their own lives” came from the founding country, he said.
“I intend to honor this tradition,” he added.
Albanian refused to comment on the BBC, but it was quoted by Al Jazeera because he described sanctions as “mafia -style intimidation techniques”.
Four of the four judges, by the Trump administration against a campaign against the ICC.
Last year, the USA, the court’s Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in Gaza, war crimes in Gaza, the arrest warrant for the accusations they rejected took action.
Rubio also accused Arnavutes of “supporting an unlawful anti -Semitism, support for terrorism, and accused of a clear contempt for the United States, Israel and the West”.
The movement is likely to provoke a violent reaction of those who claim to accountability according to the civilian death fee of Israel’s military attack in Gaza.
The special rapporteur has long argued that Western governments have not done enough to support the rights of Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian regions.
The Open Conscious Stance received significant support among those who accused Israel and US leaders of arming accusations of anti -Semitism to examine their policies.
Critics pointed out the language used by Albanian, including the 2014 interpretation of the US government’s decisions when it comes to Israel and Palestinians.
Since then, he has been reported to have regretted the word, but he claimed that it was anti -Semitic.
Amnesty International President and former UN special rapporteur Agnes Callamard said that he was horrified by the Albanian sanction decision.
“Governments around the world and all actors who believe in rules and international law should do everything they can to reduce and prevent the impact of sanctions against Francesca Albanian.” He said.
Rubio said that the Albanians despised the United States by despising the United States, doing what he calls unfounded accusations, and advised ICC to follow the prosecution of companies and executives.
“We will not tolerate these political and economic war campaigns that threaten our national interests and sovereignty.” He said.
Albanian in the beginning of this month Duzines were called to a multinational company In order to stop doing business with Israel, they were at risk of being a criminal partner in war crimes in Gaza and occupied West Bank.
In the occupied Palestinian territory of the companies, “Israel is an illegal occupation economy, apartheid and now benefiting from genocide,” he said. Israel rejected the report as “Founded” and said that “history would join the garbage box”.
Albania criticized Donald Trump’s plan to take over the Gaza Strip in February and to displace its inhabitants elsewhere.
In February, “illegal, immoral and … totally irresponsible because the regional crisis will worse,” he said.
The timing of the announcement of sanctions is currently remarkable with Netanyahu in Washington, where he received an expanded Honor Cordon in Pentagon on Wednesday.
Albanian rejected similar allegations to the BBC in October before: “I don’t get these statements and insults they carry lightly, but I also know that it is not about me, because my predecessors knew this is not about them.
“I also know these member states [making accusations of antisemitism] I certainly did nothing to comply with international law. ”
His office was approached for a comment.
Some 125 countries are the sides of the Roman statute, which founded ICC and protected by it and attached to its membership to protect the decisions of the court.
Like Israel, the United States is not a member of the court.
Against the arrest warrant of Israel and Netanyahu arrest during the Gaza War, many European countries said they respect the court’s independence in the case.
