Police seek public assistance on scrub fire near Rockingham Lakes Regional Park in Peron

Police are seeking information regarding a bush fire that broke out in Peron on Saturday, January 17.

The fire started in vegetation on the reserve adjacent to Rockingham Lakes Regional Park, at the intersection of Lease Road and Memorial Drive.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services received multiple triple zero calls just after 9 p.m., and more than a dozen devices rushed to the scene.

It took almost six hours to extinguish and approximately 15,000 square meters of forest area was burned.

Strike Force Vulcan officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the fire and have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers online here or by calling 1800 333 000.

Anyone with CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage of the fire can upload the footage directly to investigators at: this link.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information leading to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
