The Department identified the driver as Richardson, who was arrested and charged with “Dangerous Speeding”; this was a charge applied when the driver was speeding 100 miles per hour or more.

The arrest marks the latest legal trouble for the 25-year-old Olympic sprinter, one of the best-known names in American track and field.

Richardson arrested last summer on domestic violence charges at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. According to authorities, on July 27, Port of Seattle Police arrested Richardson after security footage showed him and fellow Olympian Christian Coleman involved in a verbal altercation; Meanwhile, Richardson allegedly pushed Coleman and threw a pair of headphones at him. Coleman declined to participate in the investigation, WFAA previously reported.

Following this arrest, Richardson posted a series of Instagram stories saying he was reflecting on his actions and working to move forward in a positive way. She also publicly apologized to Coleman, who was her boyfriend at the time.

There are no additional details about the Florida traffic stop. Richardson is being held in the Orange County Jail on $500 bail.
