Man charged with nearly 50 sexual crimes against three women after business searched by police

A man has been charged with nearly 50 counts of sexual assault and rape against three women after a Queensland business was searched by police.

The 50-year-old Mermaid Coast man is alleged to have committed the crimes over just seven months.

Police allege the man committed the crimes against three women.

Following a search warrant served on Saturday, numerous items were allegedly seized from a Mermaid Beach business on Seaview Boulevard.

The man was charged with a total of 51 crimes.

He faces 34 counts of sexual assault, 14 counts of rape, 2 counts of assault causing bodily harm and 1 count of attempted rape. He was refused bail by police and was due to appear at Southport Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
