Ponnam Seeks Budget Funds for Telangana Projects

Hyderabad: Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday urged Telangana MPs, especially BJP representatives and Union ministers, to go beyond politics and press for adequate fund allocation to the State in the upcoming Union budget.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam said that the BJP-led NDA government has remained unfair towards Telangana in the last decade. “Despite having a suitable representative from the state and currently eight BJP members, the Union government has consistently neglected Telangana. It is high time justice is provided to our state in the budget,” he said.
He reminded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and several ministers have already made representations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers seeking allocations for development projects. The Minister urged the Center to approve funds for Regional Ring Road, radial roads between Outer Ring Road and RRR, Musi river development, Hyderabad Metro Rail, Hyderabad Airport Greenfield Expressway, airport expansion, railway projects and other new proposals.
“Special funds should be sanctioned for the development of Telangana under Vision 2047. The people of Telangana are suffering as they feel discriminated against. If Telangana is betrayed once again, the BJP MPs in the state should raise their voices in the interest of the state,” Ponnam added.
