A popular UK store has left customers upset after confirming that another high street store will close. Superdrug is closing its branch at 38A High Street in Dudley, West Midlands.

The shop, which closed on Saturday, January 31, remained on the street for 40 years. However, it is reported that the site will reopen as discount chain Savers on February 12 Sun. While the sad news was shared on TikTok by a social media user, local people described it as “another nail in the coffin”.

Scores of local residents quickly flocked to express their sadness at the store’s closure. One user wrote: “Another nail in the coffin and Dudley’s death.”

Another commented: “What a shame. It has a wide range of make-up products in it.”

A third user described it as “one of the last original stores.”
