Sharon Osbourne got visibly emotional at the Grammy Awards. The late Ozzy Osbourne’s widow was clearly touched that Yungblud, a close family friend, honored the Prince of Darkness six months after his death.
Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, befriended the Black Sabbath frontman before falling in love with him. While the vocalist, known for his sincere attitude, congratulated the rock icon at the Grammy awards held at the Los Angeles Crypto.com Arena on February 1, his 73-year-old widow burst into tears next to him on stage.
“Growing up loving an idol who helped you understand your identity not only as a musician, but also as a man is something I’m truly grateful for,” Yungblud said. The artist won Best Rock Performance for Changes, a cover of Ozzy’s song he recorded live at Black Sabbath’s farewell concert Back to the Beginning in July.
Yungblud added, “But then getting to know them, honoring them at their last show, and getting this award [his award] “This is something I’m having a hard time understanding, we love you Ozzy.”
Sharon, 28, said emotionally: “The last time I saw Ozzy Osbourne he asked me if there was anything he could do for me and said ‘the music was enough’. God bless Ozzy Osbourne and god bless rock music!”

Yungblud and Ozzy developed a close relationship after meeting in 2022, with the Black Sabbath legend later becoming a mentor of sorts for him. Speaking to The Times following the rock icon’s death, Yungblud expressed his disbelief at the sudden loss: “I told a friend I thought Ozzy had five more albums. Then he did the show and then he died. It’s very moving.”
The legendary artist passed away on July 22, with his wife Sharon and children, at the age of 76. His tragic death came just days after Yungblud performed his final performance at Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park, where he was also set to perform.
The death certificate revealed that the Prince of Darkness had suffered a heart attack outside the hospital, suffered an acute myocardial infarction, and suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction (articular causes). His occupation was listed as “rock legend, songwriter, and artist.”

Emergency air ambulance crews battled for two hours to resuscitate Ozzy after they were called to his home. Sharon married Ozzy in 1982 and they have three children: Aimee, 42, Kelly, 41, and Jack, 39.
Following the devastating loss, the former X Factor panelist has spoken openly about overcoming her grief.
Just ahead of the festival season, he spoke openly in an interview on his close friend Piers Morgan’s Uncensored program, recalling Ozzy’s final days.

He explained: “The head doctor told him that if he did the show, ‘that’s it, you’re not going to get through this’. … He didn’t want to die on stage, he didn’t die.”
“So he knew that if he continued with the show it would probably kill him. Considering how painful it was to lose him, I don’t know how you feel.”
Sharon then became visibly upset and wiped away her tears.
The patriarch of the Osbourne family also described the harrowing moment he found her lifeless and his uncontrollable screams when he learned she was dead.

According to The Sun, he explained: “He had a heart attack. I ran downstairs and there he was and they were trying to resuscitate him and I said, ‘Don’t do it, let him go. Let him go. You can’t. He’s gone. I knew right away he was gone. They tried and tried, then they took him to the hospital by helicopter and they tried and I said, ‘He’s gone. Let him go.'”
Sharon also revealed that Ozzy will spend up to 90 minutes on the crosstrainer every day, despite his deteriorating health. She mentioned Ozzy’s troubled sleep as he reflected for the first time on their last night together.
“He said, ‘Kiss me’. Then he said, ‘Hug me tight.’ I can’t help but wonder if I should have done it, could I have? I wish I had told him I loved him more. I wish I had hugged him tighter. And he went downstairs, worked for 20 minutes and passed away,” he admitted.
