Major parties collect over $130m in dark money donations

An analysis of party returns for 2024-25 shows major political parties raised at least $130 million in donations and other funds from undisclosed sources in the last financial year launched It was announced yesterday by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC).
So-called dark money, made up of donations and “other income” that parties are not required to disclose because they are below the AEC’s disclosure threshold, made up the bulk of the funds received by Labour, the former Coalition parties and the Greens.
