Melinda Gates throws ex-husband Bill to the wolves over Epstein: ‘You’ve got some explaining to do’

Melinda Gates has sidelined her ex-husband over the latest release of the Epstein files, which allege the Microsoft co-founder planned to give his then-wife an antibiotic to combat a sexually transmitted disease he contracted from Russian girls.

The 61-year-old philanthropist, who divorced Bill Gates in 2021, said that he felt very sorry for the victims of Epstein and that the people mentioned, including his ex-wife, had some explanations to make.

On Tuesday’s episode of NPR’s Wild Card podcast, Melinda spoke somberly about the girls allegedly abused by the late financier.

‘I think we’re having a reckoning as a society, right? “No girl, no girl should ever be put in the situation that she was put into by what happened to Epstein and the various people around him,” she said, shaking her head.

He added: ‘This is beyond heartbreak. I remember those girls being that age, I remember my daughters being that age too.

‘So it’s personally difficult for me when these details come out, right? Because it reminds me of very, very painful moments in my marriage,” Melinda continued.

He later took a sharp turn and told podcast host Rachel Martin that he had nothing to do with what had come to light.

‘I deliberately pushed him and continued on my way. I’m in a truly unexpected, beautiful place in my life. So no matter what questions remain there, [and] “I can’t even begin to know them all, these questions are for those people and even my ex-husband,” she said. ‘They need to answer these questions, not me.’

Melinda Gates recently responded to the allegations made against her ex-husband Bill Gates within the scope of the Epstein Files while speaking on the podcast.

Melinda, who has two daughters and a son with Gates, added: ‘And I’m so happy to be away from all the dirt.’

When asked specifically how the latest details of her ex-husband’s alleged affairs made her feel, she replied: ‘Sad. Just incredible sadness. Incredible sadness.’

His comments come just days after the release of multiple new Epstein dossiers, including an email outlining shocking allegations about his former partner’s sexual lifestyle.

The allegations were part of an email that appeared to be a draft of a letter that Gates’ then-chief advisor Boris Nikolic planned to send regarding the Microsoft billionaire’s resignation from his charity.

The lengthy message slammed Gates for ending their friendship, saying: ‘To add insult to their injury [sic] Please beg me to delete the emails about your illness, your request for antibiotics you can give to Melinda secretly, and the description of your penis.’

The emails were among hundreds of thousands of Epstein files released by the Justice Department on Friday morning.

Friday’s release also included several new, undated photos of Epstein and Gates together in various locations.

The couple was married from 1994 to 2021. Melinda cited Gates' affairs and his friendship with Epstein as the reasons for the divorce, but did not reveal further details.

Gates has previously said he regrets his friendship with the pedophile, who died in a New York City prison in 2019, but has long denied any impropriety.

Over the years, Gates has tried to downplay his years-long relationship with Epstein; He claimed the couple did not have a ‘business relationship or friendship’ and claimed that all their meetings were in a group setting. She had also previously refused to attend any of the pedophile’s parties or go to his various homes.

Earlier in the same message, Epstein said he was ‘incomprehensibly appalled’ by Gates’ decision ‘to ignore our friendship that has developed over the last six years.’

Another email from Nikolic’s perspective that same morning also offered his resignation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

She wrote: ‘I am caught in the middle of a serious marital dispute between Melinda and Bill…

‘In my role as his right-hand man, I was asked to participate in things that ranged from the morally objectionable to the ethically objectionable, and I unfairly acquiesced and was repeatedly asked to do things. [sic] approaching illegal territory and potentially crossing the border…

‘From helping Bill take drugs to deal with the consequences of sex with Russian girls, to facilitating illicit liaisons with married women and being asked to provide him with additional assistance’ [sic] bridge tournaments [sic]Because I’m medial [sic] doctor but no prescription [sic] ability to write.’

‘All these documents show is Epstein’s frustration at not having an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and smear him.’

Melinda reportedly hired lawyers to plan her split from Bill in 2019, after reports emerged that the Microsoft founder had repeatedly met with Epstein, contrary to her previous public denials.

She hired her lawyer after becoming concerned about her husband’s alleged business dealings with the pedophile financier. Wall StreetJournal reported.
