Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday, February 6, 2026, unveiled the full-length statue of key Communist ideologue Karl Marx at the Government Museum complex in Egmore, Chennai.
Mr. Stalin inaugurated the statue in the presence of several persons, including CPI(M) State Secretary P. Shanmugam, CPI State Secretary M. Veerapandian, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder Thol. Thirumavalavan, MDMK president Vaiko, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai, senior CPI(M) leader G. Ramakrishnan, THG Publishing Private Ltd. Director N. Ram and DMK Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu.

Ministers Ma. Subramanian, PK Sekarbabu and EV Velu also participated.
Mr Stalin announced on April 2 last year that the State government would erect a statue of Karl Marx in the city.
