Traffic was stopped, but not due to construction.
Police in Commerce City, Colorado, say they’re just as surprised as motorists this week after a fire-juggling unicyclist turned a busy intersection into an impromptu street demonstration — a moment the department joked was “definitely not on our Bingo card.”
Commerce City Police Department shared drone images and photos of the unusual scene after receiving multiple calls from drivers who encountered the man juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle through traffic near US 85 and 60th Avenue.
“This post was definitely not on our Bingo card, but here we are,” the department wrote in a social media post. “The intersection of US-85 and 60th isn’t exactly the Las Vegas Strip…is it?”

According to the police, the artist’s crossing of the median and pedestrian crossing while waiting at the traffic lights attracted both the attention and concern of the drivers.
“We received a number of calls the other day as motorists were treated to a little traffic light fun, courtesy of this fire-juggling unicyclist,” police said.
Using a drone, officers recorded the scene of a man balancing on a unicycle as flames flickered just meters away from passing vehicles. While the police acknowledged the feat involved, saying it was “pretty good”, they made it clear that the stunt exceeded the legal limit.

“Our drone caught his action, which was both pretty good and pretty illegal,” the department wrote, citing trespassing on the median and obstructing traffic by not clearing the pedestrian crossing in time.
Police stated that they regularly carry out inspections at the intersection to ensure that pedestrians selling products or services do not interfere with traffic, and noted that such reports are rare.
“We don’t get reports like this very often anymore…to be honest…we have NEVER received a report like this,” the post said.

While the Ministry ended its message on a cheerful note, it also reminded the public that juggling with fire in traffic is not encouraged.
“So let’s all take a moment to appreciate this man’s abilities,” the cop wrote, adding: “So everyone agrees we don’t do things like that. Mmkay?”
