Lindy Li, a leading Democratic fundraiser, believes President Joe Biden is doing her a disservice by promising another public explanation of why she decided to run for re-election in 2024 despite growing concerns about her age and cognitive performance.
In his view, Biden’s upcoming memoir titled “Promise Me, America” will only serve to reopen painful wounds that Democrats have been trying to overcome since the 2024 election defeat. In a way, he believes the book is a sort of microcosm of Biden’s presidency.
“They think, ‘Why don’t you shut up? They didn’t want anything to do with this guy before I left the party. It was so bad that when Biden finally left on July 21, there was no going away party except a staff party in the Rose Garden. There was nothing,” Li said.
“Instead of enjoying her retirement, Jill is making him write books that no one wants to read,” Li said, referring to former First Lady Jill Biden.

“Just like he nominated him for president instead of enjoying his retirement — a presidency that no one wants, not even the Democrats. He should have retired 10, 20 years ago, but they need the money,” Li said.
Biden talked about his upcoming book in a post Wednesday morning to X.
“This is about the challenges we face as a nation. It’s about the decisions I make and why I make them,” Biden said, drawing ridicule on social media. “This is about why I chose to run for re-election and why I chose to step aside.”
“First lie at Joe Biden’s book launch: ‘I wrote a book,'” conservative communicator wrote Steve Guest.
“Joe Biden couldn’t sign his own pardon. Now he ‘wrote’ a book and the Democrats forced him to publish it after the midterm elections so it can get on the news and remind people how bad he is,” the Outkick founder wrote. Clay Travis. “Who buys this book?”
“Who do we think wrote this book?” Daily Wire editor-in-chief asked Brent Scher.
Missouri Republican Rep. “Did Otopen write that too?” Jason Smith questioned.
Published by Li its a new book His own report, titled “No Burden”, later this year became the subject of much internal party debate, investigation and behind-the-scenes panic; This showed that Biden had only weak support even within his own camp long before he withdrew from the 2024 election.

Given what he knows, Li doubts there’s a way to manipulate Biden’s exit in a way that doesn’t further damage his image — an image his campaign has worked hard to protect.
In one incident, Li recalled how the Biden campaign confiscated his phone at an event in 2023.
” [Democratic National Committee] It routinely confiscated the phones of top donors followed on social media,” Li said, referring to a party fundraising and campaign group.
“They took my phone because they knew I was a prolific tweeter. I posted something on Instagram that night, and a finance director from the DNC called me around 10 or 11 that same night and instructed me to delete everything I posted about Biden that day from Instagram.”
“The reason is that [Biden] He looked injured. He looked weak,” Li said.
DEMOCRATS’ MIDTERM STUDY WAS MADE UP WITH INTERNAL CONFLICTS ABOUT THE PARTY, WHICH KEPT THE 2024 AUTOPSYS SECRET.

Now on this side of his presidency, Li believes he will further anger Democrats who want to put the 2024 elections behind them and reignite questions about why Biden wasn’t asked to step aside sooner.
“It’s clear they’re trying to hide the fact that they’re busy hiding a candidate they’re deeply ashamed of, rather than a candidate they can be proud of,” he added.
