Emergency services were dispatched to the scene as a bus burst into flames in Edinburgh city centre. Shocking images show the bus burning on South Clerk Street near Sainsbury’s supermarket.

Clouds of smoke and a large black cloud are seen rising from the bus, while nearby vehicles avoid the chaotic scene. An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live: “I saw some people standing at the stop sign. I went to see what they were looking at and said, ‘Damn it.’ I thought, ‘Maybe I should really get out of here as soon as possible.’ When I walked a little further down the street and turned around, the entire bus was engulfed in flames.” The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is currently on duty. It is unknown whether he was injured or not.
