‘Why Did They Redact It?’

Representatives. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) told reporters Monday that after reviewing the unredacted Epstein files, the identities of at least “six likely criminals” in the files were redacted by the Trump Justice Department.
Massie “But what bothered me was that the names of at least six men who were probably charged were redacted because of their inclusion in these files. That was the first thing I saw. It took some digging to find them.”
Khanna chimed in and added: “You’re talking about what you saw. Yeah, we discussed that too. I mean, there are six guys, some of whom have photos, they’re redacted. And there’s no explanation as to why those people were redacted. And Thomas discovered that through MIT logic in some searches. But it’s really alarming. There’s six guys…”
“We went there for two hours. There are millions of files, right? And within a few hours we found six men whose names had been redacted and who were apparently involved in the way the files were presented,” Massie added.
Later, a reporter asked: “What is your message? Pam Bondi After what you saw today? “I need to do some more work, so we’ll see that in the Judiciary Committee here in a few days.”
Khanna replied, “At least these six guys, maybe they can make it public. So we’re happy to give them information, and they should do that too.”
“Are these men US citizens? What fields do they work in? Are they in finance? Are they political?” The reporter followed.
Massie replied: “At least one is a U.S. citizen, at least one is a foreigner, and the other three or four have names; I’m not sure if they are foreigners.”
“What field do they work in? Finance, banking, politics?” he pressed the reporter.
Khanna replied, “One of them is pretty high up in a foreign government and some of them – one of the others is a pretty well-known person. But I think the real issue is what we found after these six people spent two hours reviewing files that were not redacted. The broader issue is why most of the files they received were redacted in the first place.”
Massie added to her statement with some posts from X. Massie published images of some of them redacted Names in files and wrote: “Four of the 18 names redacted in this document are men born before 1970. The Department of Justice needs to explain why they were redacted unless they were random in a sequence.”
He posted another photo and wrote: “This is a well-known retired CEO. The Department of Justice should fix this. Why did they fix it?”
