How Andrew’s BBC interview compares to what Epstein emails tell us now

Following the latest release of the Epstein files, claims made by then-Prince Andrew in a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview may come under renewed scrutiny.

The BBC’s Sean Coughlan and Sarah Campbell examined the interview to compare Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s responses with emails to and from the former prince.

He faces mounting pressure from US authorities and the family of leading accuser, the late Virginia Giuffre, to testify in the US about his connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

The disgraced financier was convicted of procuring a child for prostitution in 2008 and died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

The BBC has contacted Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor for comment. He has previously denied any wrongdoing.
