Jennifer Garner, 53, looks as great as she did 20 years ago while expert weighs in on her diet tricks

Jennifer Garner looked sensational in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.
The 53-year-old West Virginia native looked absolutely dazzling in the low-cut, skintight black dress that showed off her toned figure.
Ben Affleck’s ex-wife sported slim arms, a tiny waist and a natural glow as she mingled with Reese Witherspoon, producer of hit series The Last Thing He Told Me.
They were spotted at the Tastemaker Event held at The West Hollywood EDITION in the second season of Apple TV’s The Last Thing He Told Me. The second season starts on February 20.
The Daily Mail spoke to functional nutritionist Dr Wilks about how Garner manages to maintain her slim figure despite being in her fifties.
Dr Wilks said: ‘There is no way this woman would eat chocolate chip pancakes with syrup for breakfast.’

Dr Wilks added: ‘I’d bet you’re on a protein-heavy, fibre-filled diet with very few carbohydrates.’
The nutritionist estimates that you eat eggs with avocado for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and fish or chicken for dinner.
Dr Wilks added: ‘A high-protein diet supports weight loss by increasing satiety, maintaining muscle mass and boosting metabolism.
‘Eating proteins such as meat and fish has a higher thermic effect. it would be good front-loading protein in the morning and pairing it with fiber.
‘It’s also a good idea to stay away from sugar and dairy, and I bet she’s doing that too. If Jennifer eats dessert, probably in moderation and earlier in the day, she can digest it properly before bed.
Garner is open about what she eats, as she regularly posts cooking videos on Instagram.
Some of the recipes she shares are Spicy Scrambled Eggs, Honey Lemon Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Big Fat Salad with green beans, broccoli, arugula, roasted sweet potato, nuts and cheese, Egg Bites with cottage cheese, mozzarella, bell pepper and chopped spinach, 10-Grain Bread.

She also baked her own cobbler and olive oil cake, but she probably only indulges in special occasions.
In 2015, Garner said that she went on an extreme diet from 2001 to 2006 to portray a hard-core undercover agent for the CIA on the television series Alias. She also watched her weight while co-starring with Affleck in 2003’s Daredevil.
“I dieted for so long doing Alias and being a superhero that there’s something in me that can’t do anything that extreme,” the mother of three told Yahoo Beauty.
The Dallas Buyers Club actress added: ‘I mean, believe me, there’s always a point during rehearsal where I feel like, “Why didn’t I just try to lose four pounds and then I couldn’t wear any dress?” But I can’t.’
The second season, set in Paris, will premiere on February 20. She was seen with costar Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
But the star still does her best to maintain a lean frame. “I’m probably 80 percent good at eating,” Güzel said. Still there are some foods she cannot give up, she said: ‘I’ve found out that I cannot pass up pizza without having some. I can’t do it! My kids have a lot of pizza. ‘I can’t go to a kid’s birthday party without eating a slice.’
And then there’s his Once Upon a Farm business. He is often seen eating the brand’s snacks in his social media posts.
Once Upon a Farm is a fast-growing organic food company based in Berkeley, California, co-founded by Garner and John Foraker in 2015.
There is no added sugar, preservatives or artificial ingredients when using non-GMO products for optimal nutrition. Snacks include oat bars, applesauce, coconut melts, and fruit/vegetable puffs, as well as smoothies.
