UK heatwave likely to be confirmed as record-breaking temperatures forecast

It all depends on where you live and the “normal” climate there.
The Met Office’s heatwave criteria set the temperature for a heatwave in Scotland, Northern Ireland, most of Wales and northern England at 25°C.
For most other parts of England and south-east Wales the temperature is 26 or 27C. In London, most counties and Cambridgeshire the temperature is 28 degrees.
These thresholds must be reached or exceeded for at least three consecutive days.
Once Sunday’s temperatures are confirmed, it’s possible that many regions will be officially classified as a heat wave.
It is likely to turn into a long-term heat wave in some regions.
