UK accountancy firm collapses into administration | UK | News

A UK accounting firm led by a world-renowned chief executive has collapsed into administration. Joanne Bell, founder and MD of Bells Accountants, has been named among the Top 50 Women in Finance globally.

She also won the Kent Best Woman in Business award and grew Bells Accountants into a four-practice operation employing more than 35 staff for 15 years. According to his company profile, he grew the business through organic expansion and acquisitions and was widely respected for helping business owners make profitable decisions through his consulting work.

Despite Joanne’s praise, Bells Enterprises Ltd, registered under company number 07579491 and trading in Chislehurst and Wallington, went into administration on 4 February 2026.

The move was confirmed in a notice published by The London Gazette on 10 February, following a petition to wind up the company in January.

Nedim Ailyan and Glyn Mummery from FRP Advisory Trading Limited have been appointed as joint managers.

They will oversee the firm’s operations, liaise with creditors, and explore restructuring or sale options. Managers’ contact information has been published for affected customers and staff.

Joanne’s recognition as one of the Top 50 Women in Finance made the collapse particularly striking for the UK accounting industry.

Industry analysts note that even award-winning firms face increasing pressures from rising costs, increasing regulatory requirements and competition from larger networks and digital accounting platforms.

In a professional biography, Joanne described her job as “extremely rewarding” and noted that she helps business owners “translate the story the numbers tell” to make strategic, profitable decisions.

He also emphasized his pride in building a business with a strong culture and long-standing customer relationships.

The administration leaves the firm’s 35-plus employees and a wide range of business clients in limbo; Further updates are expected once administrators complete their review of Bells Accountants’ financial position.
