The medal represents Kauf’s third all-silver Olympic medal. He won his first silver medal in the individual Mongolians at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. He won another silver in the same event on Tuesday.
The event, in which competitors navigate a series of moguls and perform a series of flips and spins on two jumps, has been part of the Winter Olympics since 1992, but for the first time the dual mogul event included a racing element in which competitors descend the mountain head-to-head, with the better score advancing.

Among those completing the podium was 20-year-old American freestyle skier Elizabeth Lemley, who won her first Olympic gold medal by besting Anthony in the individual final days earlier. She became the first American woman to win gold in the Moguls category since Hannah Kearney in 2010.
This also became the third gold medal in the history of US women’s emperors.
Saturday’s final represented an impressive showing for Team USA’s marquee team this year; This is the second time that two freestyle skiers have reached the podium together at these Games.
