All about Rajpal Yadav case
The case dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav borrowed Rs 5 million from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to finance his directorial project. Ata Pata Laapata. The film did not perform well at the box office, leading to financial trouble and eventually a legal dispute. In April 2018, a Magistrate Court convicted Rajpal and his wife Radha under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act after checks issued for loan repayment bounced. He was sentenced to six months in prison and the conviction was later upheld by a Court of Session in 2019.
Rajpal Yadav was released on interim bail on February 16 after depositing Rs 1.5 million with the court. His release provides temporary relief while legal proceedings in the case continue.
