How Many People Have Been Killed in the US-Israel War on Iran?

Scores of people have been killed in the Middle East since the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28; Gulf states and Lebanon, which host US military bases and personnel, were quickly drawn into the conflict.

Here are the number of war deaths reported so far by the relevant countries as of March 5, the sixth day of the war. Reuters has not independently confirmed these deaths.

IRANIAN On the first day of the war, a missile attack on a primary school in Minab in the south of the country killed 1,045 people, including 175 schoolgirls and staff, according to the nonprofit humanitarian group Iran Red Crescent Society. It is unclear whether the total death toll includes Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps military casualties.

ISRAEL Ten civilians, including nine people, were killed in an Iranian missile attack on Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem on March 1, according to Israel’s ambulance service, Magen David Adom. The Israel Defense Forces did not report any military casualties.

LEBANON According to the Lebanese health ministry, 77 people died in the Israeli attacks.

bahrain According to the interior ministry, one person died in a fire that broke out after the missiles were stopped in Bahrain’s Salman Industrial City.

KUWAIT According to the Kuwaiti ministries of health and foreign affairs, three people, including two Kuwaiti soldiers, died in Iranian attacks on the country.

OMAN One person lost his life as a result of a bullet hitting the Marshall Islands-flagged product tanker MKD VYOM off the coast of Muscat.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES Three people died, according to the UAE defense ministry.

US MILITARY Six US soldiers were killed in an attack on a facility in Kuwait, according to US Central Command.

SYRIA State news agency SANA reported that four people were killed when an Iranian missile hit a building in the southern Syrian city of Sweida on Saturday.

IRAQ According to Iraqi health authorities, at least 13 people were killed, including 11 militiamen, one army soldier and one civilian, according to medical records figures.
