CCB Arrest Whistle Blower IN Muda Plot Distribution Case

BENGALUR: RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru in the city of Bengaluru on Friday, following a complaint filed by DB Natesh, a Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer and former Commissioner of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), who accused the activist of distributing the fake audio clip and manipulating the content to malign her image. The lawsuit was filed on February 18

However, his son claimed that he was not informed due to his father’s arrest. A team of CCB detectives also searched his house in Gundu Rao Nagar in Mysuru city on a warrant.

It may be recalled here that Snehamayi Krishna was one of the three petitioners who approached Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleging land distribution irregularities by MUDA and sought prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The activist filed a case in the Karnataka High Court against Siddaramaiah.

A few days ago, the State Government appointed DB Natesh as the Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board. Taking note of the promotion, Snehamayi Krishna suspected bribery in his promotion. Krishna alleged that DB Natesh bribed Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh to benefit from the promotion.

The CCB is said to have conducted a search of Snehamayi Krishna’s home and seized some documents and electronic devices linked to content the activist had posted online. Following his arrest, the activist was interrogated by CCB detectives at his office.
