Melania Trump stuns in silver pants as she arrives at controversial Governor’s Dinner with husband Donald as dozens of leaders boycott after president’s turbulent week

Melania Trump arrived at the Governor’s Dinner hand-in-hand with the President amid a tumultuous week for the White House.

The First Lady attended the lavish dinner wearing sparkling silver trousers and a black tie-front top, and was joined by President Donald Trump, who wore a classic tuxedo.

Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, arrived at the dinner dressed in black as Vance addressed guests.

Despite the glitz and glamour, the night was marred by controversy.

Dozens of Democrats had threatened to boycott Saturday’s dinner if party members were prevented from attending Friday’s National Governors Association meeting.

Amid disagreements with Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Trump proudly rescinded and re-extended their invitations.

Despite the withdrawal, members of Congress, including Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, announced Saturday night that they would not attend the meeting.

‘Trump has turned the whole thing into a farce,’ he said.

Others reportedly chose to attend an alternative event.

The president addressed his guests before U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth led the dinner prayer.

He said the room was full of ‘lots of friends and very talented people.’

‘We transformed stagnation into growth, weakness into strength, chaos into order, freedom and justice,’ he said.

Trump claimed that in just one year his administration had tackled inflation and crime and gained worldwide respect.

The president then introduced Hegseth.

“We have a great leader, a great military leader named Pete Hegseth, and he will ask for grace,” Trump said.

‘He’s a guy who has turned out to be absolutely great at what he does, and you know what he does…

‘He has proven to be an incredible inspiration to the men and women in our military.’

Hegseth prayed for the president’s ‘safety’ and ‘wisdom’ to begin this glorious night.

‘We pray for our president, President Trump. Give him security, give him wisdom. “Lord, we pray for our vice president, our first lady, our second lady, the cabinet members here, all our governors gathered here, our civil judges,” he said.

‘I would be remiss if I did not pray for our great troops, our men and women around the world, who have defended our great nation as we have for 250 years. May the Lord God watch over them and protect them.’

This comes as the president suffered a major blow this week when the Supreme Court struck down his broad tariff policy on Friday.

The justices split six to three on the issue, ruling that the policy was not permitted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Trump appointees Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch were among those who voted against him.

In response, Trump called the judges who voted against him ‘very unpatriotic’ and publicly lashed out at them on Truth Social.

‘What happened today to two U.S. Supreme Court Justices, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, whom I appointed against overwhelming opposition, seems like it will never happen to Democrats, whether people like it or not,’ he said.

‘No matter how good our cause is, they vote against Republicans almost every time and never against themselves.’
