Danny Murphy column: ‘They were attacking from every angle in the end’ – why Spurs couldn’t keep Arsenal out

There have been times in the past when playing Arsenal where Saka and Odegaard were the two players you knew you had to stop.
Teams will feel that if you can concentrate the play in their area you can control them and if the play moves to another part of the pitch you can deal with it.
But on Sunday it appeared Arsenal were coming from every angle. Eze in particular was playing the ball in these spaces in front of the Spurs defence.
This also helped Gyokeres because it meant there was more room for him too.
Gyokeres still started well and had a great chance early on, but this ended up being one of his best games for Arsenal.
It helped that he had a yard of pace against Radu Dragusin, who probably wasn’t the quickest defender, but he played him nicely and was smart to stay on the left.
I remember watching a lot of Gyokeres goals for Sporting and he loved coming out from the wing and we haven’t seen him do that enough this season.
That could change now and when he scored his first goal it was as if the entire weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Some Arsenal fans who were not convinced about him will be more on his side now that he scored two goals against Tottenham and his goals were of very good quality.
I would say this is one of his best games for Arsenal and he will benefit greatly from playing it in the North London derby.
Danny Murphy was speaking to BBC Sport’s Chris Bevan.
