Prison escapee taunts police in drill video after fleeing hospital | UK | News

A man who escaped from police custody twice in a week is seen taunting his former captors in a drill rap video. Daniel Boakye, 21, escaped from West Middlesex University Hospital but was caught a day later.

A second video appears to have been released this week of Boakye boasting about his escape from police in the back of a car.

In response to the video, an unimpressed listener commented that Boakye should be arrested just for the lyrics.

London’s Metropolitan Police said officers were still searching for Boakye.

A spokesman for the force appealed to the public to help find him.

They said officers chased Boakye but were unable to catch him and he fled the area.

The spokesman said: “He is described as a black man of slim build and was last seen wearing gray tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.”

Scotland Yard’s Professional Standards Directorate was informed about the escape.

An internal investigation is being conducted to understand the sequence of events that led to Boakye’s escape.
