Sydney police fatally shot man wielding 50cm machete during wife’s alleged brawl in Westfield car park | Sydney

The shooting would be subject to examination, but “his actions were worth praising… They were brave”.

“We will put our arms around the police like us and they deserve it,” he said.

“They’re good people, good police officers. They didn’t come to work yesterday.”

Wood said he was talking to both civil servants and that they were upset and that the size of what happened has begun to emerge.

A critical event was declared. The investigation will be supervised by the Police Law Enforcement Commission and professional standards and will be managed by the murder team.

The man, the father of two young children, had no comprehensive penalty history and had no gang relationship.

Wood said it was at least 50 cm long.

“If someone had seen it, you would just be worried about your vision,” he said.

The man’s wife was arrested, but later he was released to more police investigations.

The actions of the six women in the incident will also constitute a part of the police investigation.
