3 dead, 14 injured after shooting at a bar in Austin, Texas

Police received a report of a “male assault” at Buford’s, a popular beer garden in the city’s entertainment district, Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said at a news conference early Sunday.
When police arrived at the scene, they confronted an armed man and then “returned fire, killing the suspect,” Davis said.
Emergency Service Chief Robert Luckritz said that 3 people were found dead at the scene and 14 people were injured and transported to hospitals. Three of the injured are in critical condition.
“We received a call at 1:39 a.m. and within 57 seconds paramedics and officers were actively treating patients at the scene,” Luckritz said.
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson praised the quick response of police and rescue crews.
“They absolutely saved lives,” Watson said.
